I've recently embarked on a new oil painting journey, inspired by the subtle beauty and quiet strength of nature. My latest subject is a graceful fox, bathed in gentle sunlight against a lush background of grasses. In this painting, I'm focusing on capturing not just the physical elegance of this captivating animal, but also the essence of its alert yet serene presence. Each brushstroke brings out the warmth of sunlight on its fur, contrasted against the cooler, deeper greens in the shadows.

Working in oils allows me the flexibility to build layers and textures slowly, enhancing the depth and realism of the scene. I'm finding particular joy in exploring the play of light and shadow, creating a sense of depth and harmony. Through this painting, I aim to portray the quiet moments in nature, inviting the viewer to pause, observe, and appreciate the delicate interplay of life and light.

Stay tuned as I share more about the process, the challenges, and the revelations I encounter along this creative path.
